Pink Partition 11 is an 11 kg/m³ glasswool batt made to friction fit inside the stud cavity of metal framed commercial partitions. Made from up to 80% recycled glass.

The density is the specification

Partition batts are specified by density, not just by R-value, because the density is what the tested wall system references. Pink Partition comes in three: 11, 14 and 24 kg/m³. If a system report names a density, order that one. Substituting a different density into a tested system means the report no longer describes what you built.

Sizes

Four thicknesses, each in 450 mm and 600 mm widths at 1200 mm long: 50 mm at R1.2, 75 mm at R1.8, 90 mm at R2.1 and 110 mm at R2.5. Pack coverage runs from 8.64 m² up to 23.04 m² depending on the combination, so check the square metre figure rather than the batt count.

Where it goes

Partition walls in multi residential towers, offices and commercial fit-outs. Non-combustible to AS 1530.1 and rated BAL Low through to Flame Zone in walls, floors and ceilings.

On site

Made to friction fit between steel studs, so it stays put without fixings once cut to the right width. Cut it a few millimetres oversize rather than undersize, because the fit is what holds it and a gap at the edge undoes the acoustic work.

Made to friction fit between steel studs, so it stays put without fixings once cut to the right width. Cut it a few millimetres oversize rather than undersize and press the edges into the flanges so there is no air path down the side. Keep the batt at full thickness. Compressing it into a narrower cavity loses both the R-value and the acoustic benefit. Store it dry and flat until it goes in.
