Sisalation Foam Cell Resi Liner is a foil faced closed cell foam sarking for houses, sheds, garages and cavity walls. One roll size: 5 mm thick, 1350 mm wide with a 150 mm overlap flap, 22.25 m long, covering 30 m² and weighing 14 kg.
Material R-value against system R-value
The material R-value is R0.11 to AS/NZS 4859.1, which looks small until you see what it does inside a build-up. Fletcher quotes indicative system figures of R2.1 for a pitched metal roof with heat flowing in, R1.3 with heat flowing out, and R1.6 both ways in a brick veneer wall, based on a 22.5 degree pitch with a 40 mm unventilated air gap. Change the air gap or the build-up and the number changes with it, so ask us if you need a calculation for your actual system. R-value by climate zone covers how the target figure gets set.
What else it does
It is a Class 1 vapour barrier and a water barrier to AS/NZS 4201.4, classified Extra Heavy duty. The reflective face has an emittance of 0.03 and reflects up to 95% of the sun's radiant heat. Fire is Group 2 with a Low flammability index, and bushfire ratings are BAL Low to 40 in a roof and BAL Low through to Flame Zone in a wall.
The overlap flap saves taping
One edge has a 150 mm foam free strip. Lap the next run onto that strip and most of the taping disappears, which also keeps exposed work looking tidy. Under a roof, the reflective face goes inwards with at least a 20 mm air gap. Install to AS/NZS 4200.2 where it is doing the water and vapour barrier job, and keep the foil clear of wiring.

Fitting notes
Made for houses, sheds, garages and cavity walls. Roll it out with the 150 mm foam free strip along one edge and lap the next run onto that strip, which cuts most of the taping and keeps exposed work looking tidy. Under a roof the reflective face goes inwards with at least a 20 mm air gap. Install to AS/NZS 4200.2 where it is doing the water and vapour barrier job. The foil conducts electricity, so keep it clear of wiring during installation.
