Pink Partition 24 is the highest density glasswool partition batt in the Pink range at 24 kg/m³, made from up to 80% recycled glass. It is the one commercial acoustic systems reach for when the wall has to do serious work.

Why the dense one

Denser glasswool in the cavity absorbs more sound energy, which is why tested partition systems for hotels, apartments and offices often name 24 kg/m³ specifically. The trade-off is coverage: at this density there are fewer batts in a pack and the packs cover less, so the material cost per square metre is higher than 11 or 14 kg/m³. Order what the system report names rather than the closest R-value.

Sizes

Four thicknesses at 1200 mm long: 50 mm at R1.4, 75 mm at R2.1, 90 mm at R2.5 and 100 mm at R2.8, in 450 mm or 600 mm widths depending on the thickness. Pack coverage runs from 3.24 m² up to 8.64 m².

Where it goes

Partition walls in multi residential towers, offices and commercial fit-outs. Non-combustible to AS 1530.1 and rated BAL Low through to Flame Zone in walls, floors and ceilings.

On site

Friction fits between steel studs. Cut a few millimetres oversize rather than undersize, because the fit is what holds it in place and an edge gap undoes the acoustic work.

Fitting notes

Made to friction fit between steel studs, so it stays put without fixings once cut to the right width. Cut it a few millimetres oversize rather than undersize and press the edges into the flanges so there is no air path down the side. Keep the batt at full thickness. Compressing it into a narrower cavity loses both the R-value and the acoustic benefit. Store it dry and flat until it goes in.
