THOR Double Sided Scrim Tape is a polyethylene scrim tape with adhesive on both faces, used to join the overlapped edges of foil faced reflective sheeting. THOR says it gives moisture and dust-proof joins under roofs and inside gables. We sell the 24 mm wide roll, 25 m long.

Material and handling

The carrier is a fine, high density polyethylene non-woven reinforced scrim that is very flexible. Both sides are coated with a heavy layer of aggressive adhesive. Each roll is wound with a release liner, which protects the adhesive and makes the tape easier to handle and apply. It tears by hand.

Where it is used

The main job is the lap between two runs of foil sarking, where THOR says it assists in joining the overlapped edges. THOR's earlier product pages list a second use: holding roof sarking in place on steel purlins during construction. Off the roof, THOR also lists it for laying carpet, linoleum and carpet tiles. Our article on choosing wall wrap and sarking covers the membranes themselves.
