R7.0 HP Bradford Gold is the highest R-value ceiling batt in the Bradford Gold range, a high density non-combustible glasswool batt at 290 mm.
This one is depth limited, not price limited
At 290 mm the constraint is almost always the roof space, not the budget. Before ordering, check the clear depth above the ceiling across the whole area including the eaves, not just at the ridge. A 290 mm batt crushed to 200 mm at the perimeter performs like a 200 mm batt there, and the difference between what the paperwork says and what the ceiling does starts exactly at that point.
Sizes
Four batts per pack at 1160 mm long. The 430 mm width covers 2 m² per pack and the 580 mm covers 2.69 m². That is the lowest coverage per pack in the range, so the pack count on a whole ceiling adds up quickly. Coverage per pack explained covers the estimating.
Is R7.0 the right call
Sometimes a lower R-value with the gaps properly closed and the eaves detailed well beats a higher one fitted into a space that cannot take it. R-value by Australian climate zone covers how the requirement is set, and R6.0 HP at 260 mm is the step below if depth is marginal.
On site
Friction fit between the joists, butt the ends, no gaps, no compression, and keep the clearances downlights and flues require.
Thermal rating declared to AS/NZS 4859.1 by the manufacturer. Sizes and CSR product codes are in the table below.
