R3.5 Bradford Gold is a non-combustible glasswool ceiling batt at 185 mm thick, and it is one of the most commonly specified ceiling values in Australian housing.

The two widths do not carry the same pack count. The 430 mm batt comes 16 to a pack covering 7.98 m², while the 580 mm comes 10 to a pack covering 6.73 m². That means the wider batt covers less per pack, not more, so work off the square metre figure rather than counting packs by habit. Coverage per pack explained has a worked example.
Which width
430 mm suits framing at 450 mm centres and 580 mm suits 600 mm centres, which is the usual Australian set-out. Measure yours before ordering.
