Bradford Thermoseal metal roof and wall sarking is a light duty double aluminium laminate with an antiglare outer surface. It goes under metal roof sheeting or behind wall cladding as a second skin.
What it does and what it does not
Taped and sealed it is a water and air barrier, and it works as a vapour barrier. The semi-reflective face cuts radiant heat and can contribute additional R-value, but only when it faces an air gap. Laid tight against another surface it contributes very little, so the detailing decides the result.
It is a sarking, not a roofing blanket. If the roof needs bulk insulation and condensation control across the whole plane, that is a blanket, and the two are often used together rather than instead of each other.
Sizes
1350 mm x 30 m covering 40.5 m² and 1350 mm x 60 m covering 81 m². The 60 m roll halves the number of end joins on a long run.
On site
Antiglare face out, tape the joins, seal the penetrations, keep the air gap on the reflective side. Suitable for BAL 12.5 through to Flame Zone when installed to specification.
