Bradford Anticon Tuff is a foil faced glasswool roofing blanket with a Polyweave Acoustituff facing in place of standard foil. What Bradford claims for it is tear resistance and a smoother unroll, and that is a real difference on a big roof where the blanket gets pulled across mesh all day.
Where Tuff earns its keep
On a small residential roof, standard light duty is usually enough. Tuff is worth the change when the runs are long, the crew is dragging blanket over safety mesh, or the site is exposed enough that a split facing is likely. The saving shows up in install time and in facings that stay intact, not in the R-value.
Sizes
Two options, R1.3 and R1.8, both 15 m by 1200 mm and covering 18 m² per roll. If the spec calls for more than R1.8, the standard Anticon range runs a long way higher.
Bushfire
Rated for BAL 12.5-40 when installed to specification. That is a narrower range than standard Anticon, which Bradford rates through to Flame Zone, so Tuff is not the pick for a Flame Zone job.
What it does in the roof
