Pink Sisalation Thermal Slab is a semi-rigid 32 kg/m³ glasswool board with a Sisalation Heavy Duty 450 foil laminate bonded to one face, for commercial under slab and soffit work. CodeMark certified to AS 4859.1.
Four thicknesses
50 mm at R1.5, 68 mm at R2.0, 75 mm at R2.2 and 100 mm at R3.0, all 1200 x 2400 mm boards. Pack coverage runs from 14.40 m² down to 5.76 m² as the boards get thicker.
It absorbs sound as well
NRC is 0.70 at every thickness, with sound absorption of 1.00 at 250 Hz and 0.90 at 500 Hz. Under a slab or on an exposed soffit in a carpark or plant room, that is a genuine second reason to specify it rather than a footnote.
Limits worth reading before you order
The foil facing is a vapour barrier, so it is not the product where a vapour permeable layer is required. It must be kept dry at all times, before, during and after installation, and it is not suitable where high internal humidity is present for long periods. Do not modify the board, because that can void both its suitability and its compliance.
Fire
Group 1 to AS 5637.1. The unfaced 32 kg glasswool is non-combustible to AS 1530.1, and the facing has a flammability index of 5 or lower. Ignitability, spread of flame and heat evolved are 0, smoke developed is 2.

Fitting notes
Fixed to the underside of a concrete slab or soffit with the foil face left showing, so the board does both jobs at once, thermal and acoustic, with no separate lining. Set out the 1200 x 2400 sheets so the joints land on a fixing line and butt them tight, since an open joint shows up badly on an exposed soffit. Handle the boards by the edges to keep the foil unmarked. Keep them dry from delivery through to completion. Wet glasswool loses R-value and the facing can lift.
