Martini Polyester Easy Baffle is a compression packed polyester block, 1200 x 600 x 100 mm, eight to a pack covering 5.76 m². It expands out of the pack to fill a 600 mm void.
What a baffle is for
In a commercial fit-out, sound often travels between rooms over the top of the partition, through the continuous ceiling void, rather than through the wall itself. Building the wall higher is expensive. Dropping baffles into the void above the partition line closes that path off. This is a targeted fix for flanking noise, not a general insulation product.
Why compression packed
The blocks arrive compressed and expand once released, so a pack carries far more material than its shipped volume suggests and the block sizes itself into the void without a lot of trimming.
Material
Polyester: non-toxic, non-itch, non-allergenic and odourless, which matters in an occupied building or a fit-out running alongside other trades. Fire tested to AS 1530.3 with minimal flame and smoke generation.
