Bradford Thermoseal Wall Wrap is a reflective foil faced wall sarking. It is a medium duty tear resistant laminate that acts as a second skin behind the cladding, adds a radiant heat barrier, and works as a vapour barrier.
Barrier or breather, decide this first
Thermoseal is a vapour barrier. It holds moisture out, and it also holds moisture in. That is the right answer in some wall build-ups and the wrong answer in others, which is why the Enviroseal range exists as the vapour permeable alternative. Getting this choice wrong is how walls end up holding water they cannot shed. Condensation, and what NCC 2022 asks for covers the reasoning.
Plain or Prime
Both facings are stocked in the same roll sizes, so this is a specification and appearance choice rather than a performance step.
Sizes
1350 mm x 30 m covering 40.5 m², 1350 mm x 60 m covering 81 m², and 1500 mm x 30 m covering 45 m², in either facing.
On site
The reflective face needs an air gap in front of it to do anything, so orientation matters. Tape the joins and seal the penetrations, since an untaped wrap is not a weather barrier. Suitable for BAL 12.5 through to Flame Zone when installed to specification.
