Bradford Rockwool Fireseal FZ roof batts are non-combustible stone wool, 100 mm thick, cut 1200 x 115 mm and packed 10 to a pack. They are made for one job: sealing the roof edge in the most extreme bushfire conditions.
Flame Zone is a different problem
At BAL Flame Zone the design is no longer about radiant heat alone, it is about direct flame contact and ember entry at the vulnerable edges of the roof. These batts pack into those gaps and hold their form under heat, rated for continuous service to 650 °C.
Stone wool, not glasswool
Stone wool is used here for its heat tolerance. It stays intact at temperatures that would take other materials out of service, which is what a Flame Zone detail needs from the material sitting in the gap.
Before you order
A Flame Zone rating applies to a system installed to specification, not to a product on its own. If the site is BAL-FZ, work from the specification for the roof detail and confirm the product suits it. Ask us if you need the manufacturer documentation.
