Bradford Rockwool Fibertex 350 is unfaced stone wool board and blanket for industrial work, rated for service temperatures up to 350 °C.
The number in the name is the temperature
Fibertex is graded by maximum service temperature, and the grade number is that figure. 350 is the entry grade, with 450, 650 and 820 above it. Specify from the operating temperature of the plant, not from the R-value, because a grade below the service temperature will degrade regardless of how well it insulates.
Board or blanket
Blanket rolls out along pipework and around irregular shapes. Board holds its own form for flat surfaces, vessels and enclosures. Both are unfaced, so any facing or cladding is applied separately to suit the installation.
Sizes
Seven options from 4000 x 600 x 30 mm covering 4.8 m² down to 1200 x 600 x 50 mm covering 4.32 m². Stone wool cuts and shapes easily around equipment, which matters more than sheet economy on plant work.
Stone wool also absorbs sound and provides fire resistance, so on plant it usually earns its place three ways at once. Sizes and CSR product codes are in the table below.
