Bradford Rockwool Fibermesh 450 is stone wool blanket stitched to a steel mesh backing, supplied with either galvanised or stainless steel mesh.
What the mesh is for
An unfaced blanket wrapped around a pipe or a vessel has nothing holding it together once it is cut and bent. The stitched mesh gives the blanket tensile strength, so it survives being wrapped, wired and handled without pulling apart, and it holds its shape on a curved surface. That is the whole reason to pay for a mesh blanket rather than a plain one.
Galvanised or stainless
Galvanised mesh is the standard choice. Stainless steel is specified where the environment or the operating temperature would attack a galvanised coating, which is a common call in process plant and anywhere corrosive.
Sizes
Five options in 3 m and 5 m lengths at 600 mm wide, in 50 mm and 75 mm thicknesses, across both mesh types. Coverage runs from 1.8 m² to 3 m² per roll.
Check the service temperature figures in the table below against your application before ordering, and ask us if you need the manufacturer documentation. Sizes and CSR product codes are also in the table.
