Bradford Multitel is the lightweight glasswool blanket in the HVAC range, made from bio-soluble glasswool with up to 65% recycled content. Eleven options from R0.6 at 25 mm up to R2.0 at 75 mm.
Where it is used
Wrapping HVAC ductwork is the main job. It also gets used under slabs and on soffits, which is why the roll widths run out to 1500 mm rather than staying at duct width.
Why the light grade
Duct wrap is handled a lot: unrolled, cut, wrapped, taped, often overhead in a plant room or ceiling space. A lighter blanket is faster to work with and produces less waste on offcuts. Where the duct lining takes airflow or handling on the inside face, the denser Flexitel is the better grade.
What it buys the system
Two things: heat that stays in the duct instead of leaking into the ceiling space, and less noise carrying from the plant through the ducted system into the rooms.
Thermal rating declared to AS/NZS 4859.1 by the manufacturer. All eleven options, their coverage and CSR product codes are in the table below.
