Trade Select QuickTape is the tape for the membranes that other tapes will not hold. Woven polymer fabric with the thickest adhesive in the Trade Select range, no release liner, 48 mm and 72 mm on 50 m rolls.
No liner, which is the whole point
Peeling backing paper off a tape while balanced on a frame in the wind is where the time goes. QuickTape has no liner, so you unroll it straight onto the join. Ametalin put the time saved at up to a third of the membrane fixing time, and that matches what the format does in practice.
Made for permeable and airtight membranes
Vapour permeable membranes are the hardest surface in the range to stick to, because the face is designed to be open. The woven fabric carrier and the aggressive initial tack are aimed at exactly that, and Ametalin call it out for use with the VapourTech permeable wraps and for airtight sealing on Passivhaus projects.
Branded or plain
The Trade Select printed roll and the plain commercial roll are the same tape. The plain version is cheaper because it skips the print stage, and it is the one to buy if the tape will be visible on a job where you would rather not advertise the brand.
On site
Hand tearable. Service range is minus 30 to over 80 degrees. The surface has to be clean and dry, and the roll has a 12 month shelf life at 21 degrees, so do not stockpile it. Full figures are in the table below.

Fitting notes
The surface must be clean, dry and free of oil and other contaminants. Press the tape down firmly along the whole join. There is no liner to remove, so work from the roll straight onto the lap. Store at room temperature out of direct sunlight and use within the shelf life.

Common questions
What is the difference between the branded and plain rolls?
Only the print. The plain commercial roll is the same tape without the Trade Select branding, and it costs less because it skips the print stage.
Why use this instead of foil tape?
Because foil tape does not hold reliably on a vapour permeable membrane. QuickTape has a woven fabric carrier and a much thicker adhesive designed for open faced membranes.
Is it suitable for airtightness work?
Ametalin list airtight sealing for Passivhaus projects as an intended use. Airtightness testing is still what proves the result, not the tape choice.
Does it have a backing paper?
No. That is the main reason to use it. You unroll it straight onto the join, which is what saves the time on a long lap.
How long does it keep?
12 months stored at 21 degrees and 50% relative humidity. Do not buy a year ahead.
Which width do I need?
48 mm handles ordinary laps. 72 mm is for wide laps, awkward penetrations and anywhere you want more bond either side of the join.
