Bradford Thermoseal tile roof sarking is a tear resistant laminate that lays under roof tiles as a protective second skin. Two options, Plain and Plus, both 1500 mm x 30 m covering 45 m².
Why a tile roof needs sarking
A tile roof is not a sealed surface. Wind driven rain, dust and embers can all get past the tiles, and the sarking is what stops them reaching the roof space. It also cuts the draughts that move through a tiled roof and reflects radiant heat off the underside of the tiles.
Barrier performance
Water barrier and Class 2 vapour barrier. Suitable for BAL 12.5 through to Flame Zone when installed to specification, which matters in tile roofing because the tile gaps are exactly the ember path a bushfire rating is worried about.
On site
Roll it out across the battens before tiling and lap it down the slope so water runs over a join rather than into it. It is a tough laminate, so it takes the handling that comes with working across a battened roof.
