Bradford Polyair Unicell is a foil faced closed cell foam roll aimed at garages and sheds. Same extra heavy duty grade as the commercial Polyair line, but offered in the widths, facings and roll lengths that suit a shed job.
Why a shed is a good fit for reflective insulation
A bare metal shed roof is a radiator. Most of what makes it unbearable in summer arrives as radiant heat straight off the underside of the sheet, and a reflective face is aimed exactly at that. Bradford quotes up to 95% of radiant heat reflected, provided there is a small air gap in front of the foil. Without that gap the foil does very little, so the install detail matters more here than the product choice. Facings and options
Silver foil face is the standard. A white orange white version is available where you want a lighter finish on the inside face, and there is a self-adhesive silver version that makes joining and sealing the overlaps a one-person job. Taped and sealed, the roll also helps block rain, dust and draughts.
Sizes
Rolls run from 25 m by 1500 mm covering 37.5 m² up to 40 m by 1350 mm covering 54 m², with a 150 mm lap version also available. Work out the area you are covering, then allow for the lap. How much insulation do I need has a worked example.
