R2.5 Bradford SoundScreen is a higher density non-combustible glasswool acoustic batt at 88 mm, sized for a standard 90 mm stud wall.
The one that fits a normal wall
Most internal residential walls are framed at 90 mm, which makes this the SoundScreen most people actually need. It fills the cavity properly at 88 mm, and it is denser than a thermal batt of the same thickness, which is where the acoustic performance comes from.
What Rw will I get
The Rw figure belongs to the whole system, not the batt. Two walls with the same batt and different linings give different results, and a gap at an edge can undo more than the batt contributes. Send us the build-up and we will send the matching system report.
Sizes
Seven batts per pack in four sizes: 1160 x 430 mm covering 3.49 m², 1200 x 450 mm covering 3.78 m², 1160 x 580 mm covering 4.71 m² and 1200 x 600 mm covering 5.04 m².
On site
Friction fit, touching the frame on all four sides, no gaps. Do not compress it into a narrower bay, because density achieved by squashing is not the same as the density the product was made at.
