Those are large margins by any measure, and they are there because tile battens are fixed straight through the sarking and tilers work on top of it. Nominal thickness is 0.22 mm, the thickest membrane in the Trade Select range.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eWhat it does in the roof\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a Class 2 vapour barrier at 0.012 µg\/N·s, a water barrier and an air barrier. Under tiles that combination stops wind driven rain and dust getting into the roof space through the tile laps, which is the usual failure a tiled roof has without sarking. Ametalin declare RT 0.93 winter and RT 1.51 summer for an unventilated 22 degree residential roof.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eFire\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFlammability index Low, at or below 5, and compliant with AS 3959-2018 for use in all BALs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eOn site\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrape it over the rafters with a slight sag so any water that gets past a tile runs to the gutter rather than pooling on a batten. The foil face is 0.03 emittance and needs the air space under the tiles to work. It is electrically conductive, so keep it clear of wiring. Install to AS 4200.2.
