Sarking spends its working life stretched over rafters and walked on by roofers, so tear resistance is the property that decides whether the roll survives the day it goes on.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eNon-combustible use\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSarking-type materials no thicker than 1 mm with a flammability index of 5 or less can be used where non-combustible material is required. This one is 0.12 mm with a Low flammability index, and Ametalin state it complies with the Deemed-to-Satisfy provisions for non-combustible building elements. It also complies with AS 3959-2018 for all Bushfire Attack Levels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eVapour barrier, so check the roof design\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a Class 2 vapour barrier at 0.004 µg\/N·s, which is a genuinely tight membrane. Under a metal roof in a cold or mixed climate that can be exactly wrong, because the roof then has no way to dry upward.
