That matters, because an internal lining has moving air against it continuously and a blanket that is not built for it will not hold up. The heavy duty options are for the harder end of that.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eFan noise is the other half of the job\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA lined duct is quieter than a bare one. In a commercial system the fan noise that travels down the duct and out of the diffuser is often the complaint people actually make, ahead of anything thermal.
