The glass cloth in the backing is what lets it hold a wide seam without stretching.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eFire rated\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eClass 0 and 25\/50 to BS 476 Parts 6 and 7 and UL 723, with a flame retardant adhesive. That is the reason it appears on plant room and duct specifications rather than a plain foil tape.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eHolding power\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAdhesion to steel is 72 oz per inch, tensile strength 116 lb per inch and elongation only 5%, so it grips hard and does not creep. Service temperature runs from minus 30 to plus 120 degrees, and it has a low moisture vapour transmission rate, which is what stops condensation forming at the seam.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eOn site\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePeel the liner and apply.
